Petfinity is looking for an exceptional General Manager to lead our team and drive continued business growth.
Petfinity is a locally owned, one-of-a-kind pet care destination offering boarding, daycare, grooming, an indoor dog park, café, pet store, rentable event spaces, an in-ground pool and gym, and dog training - all under one roof. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity with broad responsibility across people, operations, business development, and financial performance.
The Opportunity
As General Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day leadership, operations and business performance of Petfinity. You will have the autonomy to lead and develop our team, strengthen our services, create new opportunities and work closely with ownership and Marketing to continue growing the business. With multiple services operating under one roof, this is a dynamic role. Priorities can shift quickly, multiple initiatives may be moving at once, and success depends on turning ideas into coordinated action across the team. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on both the people you lead and the business you help build.
Lead the People
You will lead the Petfinity team through clear expectations, strong communication, coaching, accountability and development. Your responsibilities will include:
- Recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding
- Coaching and developing team members and emerging leaders
- Performance management and team member relations
- Building strong, collaborative teams
- Setting clear expectations and supporting consistent follow-through
- Workforce planning, scheduling and labour oversight
- Supporting leaders throughout Petfinity in successfully leading their areas
- Creating an environment where people are empowered to think, solve problems, take ownership and deliver results
The role involves both encouraging and challenging conversations, bringing people together around shared goals and creating the clarity and support that allow teams to perform at their best.
Drive the Business
You will oversee Petfinity's day-to-day operations while actively identifying opportunities to strengthen and grow the business. You will:
- Identify opportunities to grow existing services and develop new revenue opportunities
- Develop and oversee events, programs and community initiatives
- Identify opportunities to increase cross-utilization across Petfinity's services
- Work collaboratively with Marketing to develop and execute campaigns and initiatives
- Build relationships and partnerships within the community
- Maintain high standards of client service and manage escalated client concerns
- Build effective systems and processes across the business
- Monitor business performance and key performance indicators
- Drive revenue and profitability while managing labour and operating expenses within established budgets
- Take initiatives from concept through planning, execution and evaluation
- Make thoughtful decisions that balance our people, our clients and the financial health of the business
An idea is only the beginning. The General Manager brings together the people, resources and plan required to make it happen.
Compensation & Benefits
We offer a competitive compensation package designed to reward performance and support our team members' wellbeing.
- $85,000–$120,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience
- Performance-based bonus opportunity
- Paid time off
- Health and dental benefits
- In-store discounts
- Partner discounts at Petzoic Vet Hospital
What You Bring
We value proven experience leading teams and driving business and financial performance over a particular industry background. Your experience may come from pet care, hospitality, recreation, retail, fitness, healthcare, or another customer-focused service industry. Pet industry experience is an asset but not required.
Why Petfinity?
Petfinity brings an extraordinary range of pet care, recreation and community experiences together in one destination, creating a leadership opportunity as unique as the business itself. You'll have the opportunity to influence how the business grows, develop people and services, create new initiatives, strengthen our connection with the community, and work directly with ownership to help shape Petfinity's next chapter. For the right person, this is an opportunity to lead something meaningful and leave your fingerprints on its success.
