Role Description This full-time, on-site Master Technician role is based in Markham, ON. The Master Technician is responsible for diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues, performing advanced repairs, and conducting preventive maintenance on a variety of vehicles in accordance with manufacturer standards. Day-to-day tasks include using diagnostic tools and software, completing repair orders accurately, and collaborating with service advisors to ensure clear communication with clients about vehicle status and recommended work. The role involves mentoring and supporting other technicians, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and adhering to all safety, quality, and compliance procedures. The Master Technician also participates in ongoing training to stay current with evolving automotive technologies and manufacturer updates.
Qualifications
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills in areas such as engine, transmission, braking, and suspension systems.
- Proficiency with automotive electrical systems, diagnostic tools, and related software for troubleshooting and repair.
- Experience interpreting technical manuals, service bulletins, and manufacturer repair procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to complete high-quality repairs efficiently while maintaining safety and compliance standards.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to mentor junior technicians and collaborate with service advisors.
- Valid automotive technician certification or license appropriate to the province of Ontario; manufacturer certifications are an asset.
- Previous experience in a dealership or high-volume service environment, ideally in a master or senior technician capacity.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering an excellent customer experience.
- Comfort working with evolving technology, including computerized diagnostic equipment and digital repair documentation systems.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
