Role Description This full-time Pharmacist role is an on-site position based in Gatineau, QC. The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing prescription medications accurately, providing medication counseling, and advising clients on appropriate use, side effects, and drug interactions. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing prescriptions, performing clinical assessments, managing medication profiles, and ensuring compliance with provincial regulations and pharmacy standards. The role also involves collaborating with pharmacy assistants and other healthcare professionals, maintaining inventory and records, and supporting health promotion initiatives within the store. The Pharmacist is expected to deliver attentive, personalized service and contribute to a safe, welcoming environment for all clients.
Qualifications
- Licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the Ordre des pharmaciens du Québec (or eligibility for licensure in Quebec).
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and medication safety, including drug interactions and contraindications.
- Proficiency in prescription interpretation, dispensing systems, and pharmacy management software.
- Excellent client service and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, empathetic counseling in both routine and sensitive situations.
- Attention to detail and sound clinical judgment when reviewing prescriptions and medication profiles.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment and coordinate with pharmacy staff and other healthcare providers.
- Organizational and time-management skills to manage workload, documentation, and inventory in a busy community pharmacy.
- Fluency in French; functional English communication skills are an asset for serving diverse clients.
- Previous experience in a community pharmacy setting is preferred.
