Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Security Guard role based in Ottawa, ON. The Security Guard is responsible for monitoring premises, conducting patrols, and controlling access to facilities to prevent unauthorized entry and ensure a safe environment. Daily tasks include observing and reporting suspicious activity, responding to alarms or incidents, and completing clear and accurate incident reports. The role involves interacting with clients, visitors, and members of the public in a professional manner, providing assistance and customer service while enforcing site rules. The Security Guard will collaborate with other team members and supervisors to follow established security protocols and support emergency response procedures.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Customer Service abilities to communicate clearly, de-escalate situations, and maintain professional client relations.
- Candidates should possess experience or knowledge in Physical Security and Private Security practices, including patrolling, access control, and incident response.
- Candidates should possess awareness of Personnel Security principles, including identity verification and safeguarding confidential information.
- Candidates should possess the ability to remain alert, follow procedures, and prepare accurate written reports and documentation.
- Valid security guard license (or eligibility to obtain one) in Ontario, with a clean background check.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and respond quickly during emergencies; previous security or law enforcement experience is an asset.
- Availability to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
