What You’ll Do
- Lead and set the direction for a portfolio of mining studies right at the point where key value decisions happen.
- Oversee and support a team of Study Managers, making sure they’re set up for strong delivery and commercial performance.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop Study Managers and Project Engineers, aligning the right talent with the right studies.
- Stay close to scope, schedule, budget, and financial performance to catch and solve issues before they grow.
- Act as a trusted senior interface for both clients and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate global SMEs to bake technical quality and innovation into every study.
- Review and shape proposals to ensure they’re strategic, risk-aware, and ready for execution.
- Identify and communicate project risks with clarity and confidence.
- Support regional business development by engaging clients and shaping new opportunities.
- Oversee work ranging from early business cases through full Feasibility Studies.
What You’ll Bring
- 15+ years in the mining industry with deep regional market knowledge.
- A proven track record leading mining studies, including NI 43-101 and SK-1300 reports.
- Strong leadership experience in consulting, owner-side, or capital project environments.
- A background as a Study Manager, Area Manager, Engineering Manager, or owner-side project lead.
- Experience with large, complex, multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM scopes.
- P.Eng. designation and the ability to act as a QP under NI 43-101
- An established network in base metals or minerals is a huge advantage.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity while balancing the details with the big-picture strategy.
- A clear, confident communication style.
- Flexibility to travel regionally and internationally when needed.
