JOB SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Executive Director (ED), the Fundraising Manager is a full-time leadership role responsible for developing, executing, and overseeing all fundraising strategies, grant proposals and events for Port Cares. This on-site position plays a critical role in generating revenue to support the agency’s wide range of programs and services.
Working collaboratively with the management team and the Outreach Committee of the board, the Fundraising Manager will design comprehensive fundraising plans and budgets aligned with Port Cares' strategic goals. They will lead the implementation of these initiatives to ensure successful fundraising outcomes. The Fundraising Manager will also write and submit any grant proposals for the various departments of the organization.
The ideal candidate will be a relationship-builder, focused on cultivating and maintaining strong partnerships with individual donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors, and have a keen business sense with marketing experience. As a key ambassador for Port Cares, the Fundraising Manager will represent the organization with professionalism, integrity, and passion for its mission.
The Fundraising Manager will also provide direct supervision to the Social Media & Communication Specialist.

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Implement and build on fundraising plans that support the organization’s long-term objectives and align with the overall strategic plan
- Oversee the implementation of annual fundraising initiatives, including planned events, 5050 raffles, direct mail and major gifts
- Work closely with the ED to submit grant applications and funding proposals
- Coordinate closely with the Management team to align revenue goals with budgetary needs, track grant funding, and meet reporting obligations
- Oversee the social media and communications specialist
- Uphold donor recognition standards and fundraising policies aligned with industry best practices and ethical guidelines
- Maintain donor stewardship practices that prioritize relationship-building and long-term engagement
- Serve as a key member of the senior leadership team
- Prepare and present regular fundraising updates to the ED, including performance metrics and projections toward annual targets
- Collaborate with local, provincial and federal partners, such as Food Banks Canada, to identify and pursue shared fundraising opportunities
- Lead agency tours, give presentations, and engage in outreach activities to raise awareness and foster community support
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- 5+ years of marketing and fundraising experience
- Post-secondary education in fundraising, marketing and public relations
- CFRE designation is an asset
- Proficient in using fundraising customer relationship software, such as DonorPerfect
- Deep understanding and knowledge of donor stewardship best practices and fundraising ethics
- Strong written and reading skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationship with donors, board members, and community leaders
- Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule to attend/host events, fundraisers, and occasional meetings as needed
- Experience using Adobe Acrobat, Canva and MS Suite is an asset
- Provide own transportation and carry a valid driver’s license is required
Job Types: Full-time, On-site with some work from home flexibility
Pay: $70,00-80,000 /year
