This position is currently posted internally to CUPE employees for 5 working days until 4:30 p.m. October 19, 2026 as per the CUPE Local 5829 Collective Agreement.
We are seeking a dependable, caring Educational Assistant to join our team and provide classroom support in a positive and inclusive learning environment. The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in working with children, demonstrate patience and compassion, and be committed to supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of students. The ability to recognize and respond to the diverse learning needs of students while encouraging independence and engagement is essential.
This is a full-time, temporary position located at J.C. Charyk Hanna School, working 30 hours per week to commence as soon as possible. This position is to replace a permanent employee currently on leave and will terminate upon the return of the permanent employee.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the classroom teacher and school staff to provide individual and small-group support, assist with classroom activities, and help create a welcoming and supportive learning environment for all students. Strong communication skills, professionalism, flexibility, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues are essential. The successful applicant will be expected to represent the school in a professional manner through their interactions with students, families, colleagues, and the broader school community. Previous experience working in a collaborative educational setting would be considered an asset.
