Production Supervisor - Price Electronics (Weekend)
Reporting To: Plant Manager
Work Schedule: Friday to Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
Purpose of the Role:
Active part of the leadership team - work with team members to improve the overall manufacturing operations by promoting productivity, quality and safety on the manufacturing floor.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the performance of process and employees in production cell
- Managing production and ensuring all needed materials are on hand by working closely with Planning & Leadership Team
- Troubleshooting production issues with Group Leaders and production team
- Working with production team to develop an in-depth knowledge of the production line, utilizing documentation to capture critical to-process information
- Implement & champion Lean initiatives
- Ensure effectiveness and efficiency in all aspects of performance for the cell, and provides leadership and direction to the team
Supervisory Duties:
- Conduct daily meeting to control production progress, daily check on machine/tools status & WIP inventory/ Kanban
- Implement Yield, Quality Control and Standards to maximize productivity & minimize production cost
- Review production report, identify need of improvement areas, initiate corrective actions through IRS
- Ensure timely delivery of product to customer, specification requirements are meet for each particular product & process
- Maintain high moral among production staff through regular communication and guidance
- Ensures safety of team members at the floor and sees to it that the company policies are strictly followed
- Constant communication of any quality issue related to RMA, FQR, NCR to assembler & tester
Administration Duties:
- Update employee time and attendance in IDT, also includes updates of holiday & overtime in the Holiday Schedule spreadsheet
- Request part number on new parts and products including the setting of stock quantity requirement
- Attend meeting to discuss weekly planning & report order status and production highlights
- Assists students on the Job training throughout the required hours in the production
- Coordinate status update for new product build to the production team
Technical Duties & Responsibilities:
- Review orders through ERP System.
- Check, review and approve any engineering change
- Conduct tact time & report man hours spent on new product build
- Assist & support generating shop aids for new product build
- Review line status & request needed support from IT, Production Support, QA, Design, Maintenance
- Implement line balancing & one piece flow whenever applicable
- Coordinate any updates on test procedures, fixture requirements with test team
Qualifications and Skills
- Post-secondary education in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years of supervisory experience in electronics manufacturing or a similar manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, safety standards, and quality systems.
- Strong production planning and prioritization abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze production KPIs and drive performance improvement.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate with operators, engineers and management.
- Strong people leadership and employee development skills, including ability to motivate, coach, and provide direction to production teams.
- Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
