Position Summary
The Human Resources Associate provides administrative and operational support across all areas of Human Resources, helping ensure an exceptional employee experience and efficient HR operations. This role plays a key part in talent acquisition, onboarding, payroll and benefits administration, employee records management, learning and development, compliance, employee engagement, health and safety, and strategic HR projects.
The successful candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, service-focused, and comfortable managing confidential information while supporting a broad range of HR initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition
- Coordinate job postings, candidate communications, interviews, and hiring documentation
- Support reference checks and recruitment reporting
Onboarding & HR Administration
- Coordinate onboarding activities, employee records, HRIS updates, payroll setup, and benefits enrollment
- Maintain accurate employee files and documentation
Payroll, Benefits & Compensation
- Support payroll processing and employee updates
- Administer benefits enrollments and changes
- Prepare employment and compensation-related letters
Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Support employee relations processes and documentation
- Coordinate performance review administration and reporting
Learning, Development & Health & Safety
- Coordinate training, compliance programs, and training records
- Maintain health and safety records and committee documentation
HR Operations & Compliance
- Support HR reporting, audits, compliance tracking, and records management
- Ensure data accuracy and confidentiality across HR systems
Offboarding
- Coordinate employee departures, benefits terminations, equipment recovery, and required documentation
Strategic HR Projects
- Support HRIS implementation, process improvement, organizational integration, and other HR initiatives as required
Education
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources
- Working toward or completion of the CHRP designation is considered an asset
Experience
- 2-4 years of HR administration, HR Assistant or HR Coordinator experience
- Experience supporting payroll and benefits administration
- Experience working with HRIS platforms
- Experience in a multi-site or growing organization is an asset
Skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage confidential information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Customer-service oriented approach
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Compensation
- Competitive base salary range $65,000 - $75,000 CAD
