Market Risk Analyst - Counterparty Analytics:

On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Market Risk Analyst - Counterparty Analytics for a 6-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Market Risk Analyst - Counterparty Analytics - Job Description:

The role involves supporting the Market Risk and Counterparty Analytics area within the Bank Corporate Risk Management function. The Analyst will focus on the analysis, reporting, and monitoring of risk exposures, ensuring compliance with counterparty credit limits. The role also includes executing infrastructure changes related to credit facilities.

Market Risk Analyst - Counterparty Analytics - Responsibilities:

Manage Counterparty Credit Risk by investigating and escalating credit excesses at the facility level.
Generate accurate processes to measure and report on exposures as per guidelines.
Ensure risks are correctly measured, aggregated, and analyzed according to limits.
Provide analysis, reporting, and monitoring of risk exposures.
Record, document, and explain late or missing reports and metrics.
Propose and champion projects to improve business support efficiencies.
Execute infrastructure changes for new or revised policies or processes.
Ensure internal control processes are adequate and documented.
Liaise with front office traders, Credit Risk Management, and other stakeholders.
Perform ad-hoc analyses as required by management.

Market Risk Analyst - Counterparty Analytics - Mandatory Skills:

Strong knowledge of financial products, counterparty credit risk, and Capital Markets.
Experience working with complex systems (Vendor systems).
Experience with impact assessments, drafting requirements, and project testing.
Investigation skills.
Self-starter with initiative and adaptability.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong organizational and priority-setting skills.

Market Risk Analyst - Counterparty Analytics – Nice-to-Have Skills:

Experience in Risk Management roles.
Working knowledge of technical tools (SQL/VBA/Python/Artificial Intelligence).

Market Risk Analyst - Counterparty Analytics – Assignment Length:

This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of extension.

ASAP.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring 4 days in the office.

Responsibilities

Analyze, report, and monitor counterparty risk exposures, investigate and escalate facility-level credit excesses, and ensure exposures are measured and aggregated in accordance with limits and guidelines. Execute infrastructure changes, maintain documented internal controls, coordinate with traders and risk stakeholders, and perform ad hoc analyses and process-improvement work.

Requirements

Requires strong knowledge of financial products, counterparty credit risk, and Capital Markets, along with experience using complex vendor systems and conducting impact assessments, requirements drafting, and project testing. The role also calls for investigative ability, initiative, adaptability, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and effective organization and prioritization; SQL, VBA, Python, or AI experience is an asset.
