Responsibilities
Repair and maintain hopper and tank railcars, including welding, mechanical repairs, coupler servicing, valve replacement, airbrake testing, and leak testing. Inspect incoming railcars, follow repair orders and procedures, and complete repair documentation and quality checks in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Requirements
Candidates need strong mechanical skills, safe proficiency with hand and power tools, clear communication, and the ability to read work orders and complete documentation. They must be able to work rotating 12-hour shifts in demanding outdoor and industrial conditions, including heights and confined spaces, and have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; railcar repair experience, AAR knowledge, and WHMIS training are assets or relevant qualifications.
