We are looking for a QA Analyst for a 1 year contract with high possibility of extension. Role is hybrid with 1 day a week on site in Downtown Toronto.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with data, coordinating testing activities, managing competing priorities, and helping ensure technology changes are properly tested and ready for production. Experience in Capital Markets, trading, or investment banking technology is highly valued.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate SIT, UAT, release testing, and production validation across multiple technology initiatives.
- Partner with QA, development, business, and production teams to establish testing timelines, track dependencies, and ensure key milestones are met.
- Use SQL to investigate data, perform reconciliations, validate results, and identify discrepancies across large datasets.
- Leverage Python for data validation, testing support, automation, and troubleshooting.
- Analyze and report data using Excel, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and other advanced functions.
- Track defects, issues, risks, dependencies, and testing progress through tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
- Support release planning and governance activities, ensuring appropriate testing and production-readiness criteria are completed before deployment.
- Assist with production validation, incident follow-up, and troubleshooting when technology changes move into production.
- Coordinate across multiple teams and interconnected applications, keeping stakeholders informed of progress, issues, risks, and upcoming releases.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in QA, testing, release, and production-support processes.
- Work within Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments, adapting to the needs of different technology initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- 1–5 years of experience in QA coordination, test management, release management, production support, technology delivery, or a related role.
- Professional experience within banking, financial services, investment banking, or another financial technology environment.
- Strong hands-on SQL skills, with the ability to query, validate, reconcile, and analyze data.
- Working knowledge of Python for data analysis, validation, automation, or troubleshooting.
- Strong Excel capabilities, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, reporting, and data analysis.
- Experience coordinating SIT, UAT, regression/release testing, or production validation.
- Understanding of SDLC, QA processes, defect lifecycle, release governance, and production-readiness practices.
- Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or comparable issue/project management platforms.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to coordinate across technical and business teams.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives, deadlines, dependencies, and release schedules simultaneously.
Capital Markets Experience – Preferred
Experience in Capital Markets technology would be a strong advantage, particularly within environments involving:
- Trading platforms and electronic trading
- Front Office, Middle Office, or Back Office technology
- Trade booking and trade lifecycle processing
- Settlements and post-trade processing
- Market data
- Risk management
- Regulatory reporting
- Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, or FX
- Front-to-back trading workflows
- Production support for interconnected financial applications
