Our client is an
established international food import and export company with a head office in downtown Montreal and manufacturing facilities across Atlantic Canada. They are looking for a
Logistics Coordinator to join their team and play a key role in coordinating the movement of products across Canada and internationally.
This is a hands-on opportunity for a logistics professional who enjoys a fast-paced environment, working with multiple partners, and finding solutions when challenges arise. You'll work closely with freight forwarders, transportation providers, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and internal teams to ensure shipments move efficiently and arrive on time.
The ideal candidate is
organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a busy supply chain environment. Experience within the food manufacturing or food import/export industry will be considered a strong asset.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day logistics and supply chain activities, from shipment planning through delivery.
- Monitor shipments, transportation costs, timelines, and productivity.
- Coordinate the safe and timely pickup and delivery of products.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, carriers, and transportation companies.
- Plan and coordinate land, air, and ocean freight.
- Organize and monitor inventory, storage, transportation, and delivery requirements.
- Track shipments and proactively resolve delays, discrepancies, and other logistical issues.
- Review, prepare, and route purchase orders.
- Coordinate customs activities and ensure required documentation is accurate and complete.
- Respond to customer and internal inquiries regarding shipments, inventory, and deliveries.
- Analyze current logistics procedures and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and processes.
- Assist with preparation for external audits, including CFIA, MSC, and other regulatory requirements.
- Support various administrative and operational projects as required.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or a similar position.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Advanced French and English, both written and spoken.
- Experience in the food manufacturing, food distribution, or food import/export industry is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Incoterms and HS codes.
- Familiarity with CFIA, FDA, and/or EU food regulations.
- Working knowledge of legal, regulatory, and ISO requirements.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and meeting tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly present and report information.
