Role Description The Senior Interior Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Vancouver, BC. This position is responsible for leading interior design projects from concept through completion, including developing design narratives, preparing drawings, and coordinating with clients, consultants, and contractors. Day-to-day tasks include space planning, selecting finishes and FF&E, producing and reviewing construction documentation, and ensuring design solutions align with project budgets and timelines. The Senior Interior Designer will mentor junior team members, support project presentations, and maintain high standards of design quality and technical accuracy.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Interior Design and FF&E selection, including finishes, fixtures, and furnishings appropriate for varied project types.
- Proficiency in Space Planning with a focus on functionality, circulation, and code-aware layouts.
- Solid understanding of Architecture and building systems to ensure design solutions integrate with structural and architectural intent.
- Experience producing and coordinating detailed Construction Drawings and documentation for consultants and contractors.
- Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field.
- Advanced proficiency in design and technical tools AutoCAD, SketchUp.
- Demonstrated experience leading interior design projects and collaborating with consultants and contractors
- Strong communication, presentation, and client-facing skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design concepts.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
- Knowledge of local building codes, permitting processes, and construction practices in Vancouver or similar jurisdictions.
