ProTorque Energy Canada provides tubular running services to operators across Western Canada, with computer analyzed torque monitoring on every connection. We are hiring for two field roles for the winter program.
CRT Technician
Run casing with a casing running tool and top drive. Rig up the CRT and torque sub, run the string with the driller, and keep the floor moving with the rig crew. Conduct pre-operation inspections, keep equipment in safe working order, and maintain accurate records of operations.
What you bring:
- Experience running casing with a casing running tool and top drive
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of drilling and completion processes
- Able to work rotational shifts through the winter season, including nights and weekends
CATM Technician
Monitor and control tubular connection make-up using WinCatt, MTT, or WeCatt torque-turn systems. Track torque, turns, and RPM on every connection, read the graph against that connection's acceptance criteria, stop a make-up that goes wrong before the joint goes in the wellbore, and produce the connection record the operator keeps. Perform monthly load cell calibrations and keep the system and consumables job-ready. Work with tong hands, other service companies, and the consultant to keep the job running smoothly.
What you bring:
- Working knowledge of connection running procedures, torque tables, and API standards, or the technical aptitude to be trained on ours
- Computer skills sufficient to run a torque-turn system from job start to finish
- The ability to stay focused through long periods of monitoring. Attention to detail matters more than anything else in this role.
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Previous oil and gas experience is an asset
Both roles
- Valid Alberta driver's licence with a ProTorque-approved driver abstract
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, CSO, WHMIS, and TDG certificates, maintained throughout employment
- Fit for duty, punctual, and able to work outdoors in winter conditions at remote locations
