Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of HSPnet, the Manager, HSPnet Solutions is responsible for managing, monitoring and delivering the operations of HSPnet. The Manager supports the delivery of HSPnet in BC and across Canada, ensuring positive user experience and ability of the platform to meet the needs of all aspects of coordinating student placements.
Duties/Accountabilities
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the HSPnet service. Provides leadership to staff through coaching, guiding and modeling key behaviours and strategies, encouraging dialogue and providing guidance and advice to facilitate resolutions to work issues. Assists team members to define shared and individual goals, meet target dates and ensure alignment of team goals with customer needs. Fosters team spirit, trust and mutual respect. Maintains an organizational structure for the area that provides the highest level of quality work and service to customers.
- Evaluates individual and team performance in collaboration with appropriate internal and/or external partners. Investigates work and staff issues and where necessary initiates disciplinary action up to and including termination. Participates in the management of labour relations matters and negotiates/approves essential service levels for the area as applicable.
- Establishes clear responsibilities for each employee, reviewing workload assignments, and adjusting schedules according to workload to ensure levels meet operational requirements.

- Monitors the annual operating budget for designated services. Ensures adherence to the budget by performing duties such as monitoring expenditures and recommending remedial action and takes corrective action to ensure performance to plan.
- Triages national user system improvement requests.
- Develops project plans, aligns priorities, and works within Agile methodologies.
- Performs advanced, complex project and change management activities to support continuous improvement and alignment with the goals, objectives, and strategic directions of HSPnet.
- Achieves program objectives and delivers results.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a degree in Health Information Sciences or Computer Science or a relevant healthcare discipline, plus seven (7) years recent related clinical information systems experience in a large, complex information systems application environment, including a minimum of five (5) years in a progressively responsible management role. Previous project management experience with Agile methodologies is required. Exposure to in custom technical solutions, SQL, Microsoft cloud infrastructure, technical environment setup, and Power BI is preferred.
