Description
The Licensed Tradesperson maintains, diagnoses, tests, and repairs the material handling equipment (MHE) (e.g., conveyors, gear boxes rollers, drive unit, hydraulic and pneumatics systems, etc.) to ensure equipment is operating with minimal downtime in compliance with health and safety standards.
Responsibilities
Research and identify solutions to hardware and software issues. · Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical components of automated conveyor systems, sortation equipment, and material-handling equipments. · Diagnose and repair electrical faults involving components such as motors, carrier cells, motor controls, sensors, photo-eyes, encoders, and safety devices. · Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on PLC-controlled equipment, VFDs, MCCs, and power distribution systems. · Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to support troubleshooting and repairs · Support MHE teams when trouble shooting · Ensure all issues are properly logged and escalated accordingly · Prepare accurate and timely reports · Document technical knowledge in form of technical bulletins and manuals · Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time · Performing Emergency repairs and electrical work · General cleanup of work areas · Assist the daily operation as needed · Support project team with commissioning and other duties as requested.
Education
Completion of Specialized Courses Normally Taught in Community or Recognized Specialty Colleges. For electrician roles, a Licensed Industrial Electrician Certificate (442A) is required· 442A Industrial Electrician ·
Experience
Licensed Industrial Electrician Certificate (442A) is required· 442A Industrial Electrician ·
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an automated maintenance environment.
Able to solder and repair electronics components and parts
Working knowledge of PLC systems and automatic sorter equipment
Working and programming knowledge of Siemens PLC systems. Siemens VFD and operations
Must be capable bending, crawling and work in tight spaces
Maintenance management software skills including generating and completing preventive and corrective maintenance
Working knowledge of PLC systems, a must

Language Requirement: Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders. This requirement is justified by the nature of the responsibilities and operational needs.
