Operations Research / Industrial Engineering Consultant
We are seeking an experienced Operations Research / Industrial Engineering professional to support operational planning and decision-making in a complex government or defence environment.
The successful candidate will use data, forecasting, and analytical modeling to help anticipate operational needs, assess risk, identify constraints, optimize resources, and support informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze operational data to identify trends, risks, and bottlenecks
- Forecast operational and resource requirements
- Use probability and analytical models to assess uncertainty and risk
- Develop scenarios to evaluate different courses of action
- Support resource allocation and capacity planning
- Identify operational constraints and recommend improvements
- Provide data-driven recommendations to support planning and decision-making
Requirements
- Secret security clearance
- Controlled Goods eligibility
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Background in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related quantitative field
- Experience with forecasting, optimization, analytical modeling, risk analysis, and resource planning
- Knowledge of probability, stochastic modeling, or uncertainty analysis
- Experience with decision analysis, bottleneck analysis, or Theory of Constraints
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with simulation or scenario modeling
- Experience supporting Canadian government or defence programs
- Experience with tools such as Python, R, MATLAB, Excel, Power BI, or optimization/simulation software
