Company Description Queen's Nursing Research Club is a student-led organization dedicated to promoting interest and engagement in nursing and health-related research. The club provides opportunities for members to learn about research methods, evidence-based practice, and current topics in nursing science. Through workshops, journal clubs, and collaborative projects, members can build research literacy and strengthen critical thinking skills. The club also fosters networking with peers, faculty, and professionals who are active in research. Members are encouraged to contribute ideas and participate in activities that enhance the culture of inquiry within the nursing community.
Role Description General Members of Queen's Nursing Research Club will be placed in one of three subcommittees. As part of this application, you will select your preferred group to join. To help guide your choice, each subcommittee and its role within the club is outlined below. Members will ultimately be placed into one of these groups, each of which plays an important role in supporting the clubs initiatives!
Marketing: Finding innovative and creative ways to promote opportunities. Creating digital materials and filming, editing, posting videos. A great opportunity for you to make this role your own!
Fundraising: Develop financial skills, and practice writing and submitting grants. Use social skills to promote fundraising initiatives and provide input on fee breakdowns and budgets. This is great to demonstrate responsibility and develop skills for your resume!
Events: Use your organizational skills to help us plan logistics and run fun and informative events. Take part in the events yourself and network with different students, professors, researchers, and doctors!
Qualifications
- Interest in nursing, health sciences, or related fields, with a willingness to learn about research and evidence-based practice.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to participate in discussions, prepare summaries, and collaborate with peers.
- Organizational and time management skills to attend meetings regularly and support events or projects throughout the term.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, showing respect for diverse perspectives and constructive feedback.
- Reliability, professionalism, and a proactive attitude toward contributing to club initiatives and member engagement.
- Enrollment in or aspiration toward a nursing or health-related program is an asset but not required.
