Job Description:
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a reporting system to ensure the timely collection of information related to hazards, incidents, and accidents that may adversely affect safety (CAR 573.32a)
- Identify hazards and conduct risk management analyses and investigations to determine root causes (573.32b)
- Review, analyze, and identify the actual or probable cause of hazards, incidents, and accidents identified within the safety management system (573.32c)
- Establish and maintain a safety data system to monitor and analyze trends related to hazards, incidents, and accidents (573.32d)
- Monitor and evaluate the results of corrective actions related to hazards, incidents, and accidents
- Monitor civil aviation industry safety concerns and their perceived impact on the OMA (573.32f)
- Determine the adequacy of the training required by paragraph 573.31(1)(f) (573.32g)
- Report hazards, incidents, and accidents identified within the framework of the Safety Management System to the Maintenance Manager (573.32h)
- Assist the Quality Manager in reviewing the MPM, QPM, and CPM
- Prepare presentations and attend monthly meetings
- Provide organizational visibility on the status of the SMS
- Any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- DEC or equivalent and experience with the Safety Management System;
- Must have at least six years of experience in maintenance work or direct supervision of maintenance work of the type undertaken by the organization, including at least six months within the last two years
- Hold a TEA license or achieve a minimum score of 70% on the Transport Canada Civil Aviation Regulations exam;
- Good understanding of English (spoken and written)
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to adapt to different computer software;
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management.
