Job Overview:
The Project Manager delivers high-quality projects on time and within budget. Partnering with client services, medical, and creative teams, they translate strategic goals into project plans and drive execution. This role manages timelines, resources, budgets, and communications while identifying risks and solutions. The Project Manager ensures efficient workflows and a seamless client experience.
Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end delivery of multiple complex medical communications projects, ensuring scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Lead day-to-day project operations with minimal supervision, maintaining project plans, budgets, resources, and deliverables.
- Coordinate communications between internal teams and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
- Support development of project briefs and Statements of Work in partnership with Client Services.
- Lead estimation discussions and develop budget ranges with documented assumptions.
- Identify regulatory, technical, or operational risks and implement solutions proactively.
- Maintain project documentation, templates, reporting tools, and project records.
- Prioritize deliverables and assignments through effective stakeholder communication.
- Partner closely with Client Engagement, who owns client relationships and account strategy, while the Project Manager owns delivery planning, execution, and risk management.
- Assign and coordinate work across multidisciplinary teams including UX, Graphic Design, Animation, Software Development, and QA.
- Manage project resources and adapt plans based on changing requirements.
- Control project scope, monitor risks, develop contingency plans, and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
- Lead project retrospectives, capture lessons learned, and implement process improvements.
- Monitor project financials, status updates, and key performance insights.
- Coach and mentor Project Coordinators and junior team members.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Science, or related field.
Experience:
- 5–7+ years of digital, project management, account management, healthcare, or agency experience.
- Experience managing client-facing digital projects.
- PMP, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or related certification is considered an asset.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong project management skills with a structured approach to delivering projects on time and within scope.
- Ability to balance client needs with business objectives.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven experience planning and delivering digital projects.
- Strong client service, negotiation, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Experience with web and mobile development projects; HTML5, iOS, and Android experience is an asset.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities, budgets, schedules, and cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Excellent verbal, written, meeting, and time-management skills.
- Adaptable, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience is an asset.
- Experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Basecamp, or Redmine.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
