Daily Tasks
- In this program, students work face-to-face with adults with Serious Mental Illness, alongside a team of providers for Psychosocial Rehabilitation. One of the advantages of this location is the opportunity to work with adults who have a high level of acuity, while still always having other professional staff present to provide support. Direct contact hours are abundant here, providing opportunities to strengthen skills for working with clients coping with acute mental health symptoms, intellectual and developmental needs, and substance use concerns. Students have also had opportunities, as needed, to work with multi-disciplinary providers at the Nelson Counseling Center in order to focus on specific skills, interview experts in other disciplines, and broaden educational experiences.
