The short version
You own quality across Remitbee's web and mobile products - the strategy, the automation, and the team. You'll set how we test, build the frameworks that make it repeatable, and sign off on releases.
What makes QA here different from most product QA: you're testing money movement. A bug in a checkout flow costs a conversion. A bug in a transfer flow means someone's money is in the wrong place, in the wrong country, and there's a regulator interested in how it happened. KYC and AML flows get tested with that in mind, not as an afterthought.
You should know this is a hands-on lead role, not a management one. You'll mentor the team and delegate, but you'll also be writing automation yourself. If you're looking to move fully out of the tooling, this isn't that job.
What you'll own
QA strategy across web and mobile. Test planning through release sign-off, for iOS, Android and web. You decide what good enough looks like before a release ships.
The QA team. Delegating, unblocking, mentoring, and keeping releases on schedule. This is the part that expands to fill the week if you let it - protect time for the automation work, because that's what stops the team's load from compounding.
The automation frameworks. Selenium for web, Appium for mobile. Expanding coverage and shortening regression cycles so releases stop being a bottleneck.
Quality metrics, reported to leadership. Defect leakage, automation coverage, release stability. You define them, track them, and explain them to people outside engineering.
What success looks like six months in
- Regression cycle time cut measurably, with automation coverage you can show on a chart
- Defect leakage to production trending down, and you know why when it doesn't
- Test plans the wider engineering team actually uses, rather than QA documentation nobody opens
- Quality gates embedded early enough that developers catch things before handoff
You must have these four things - it's what we screen on
Five-plus years of hands-on automation QA in a product company, with Selenium and Appium. Both are mandatory here - Selenium for web, Appium for mobile. You'll walk us through a framework you built or substantially rebuilt in them: what was broken before, what you chose, and what coverage looked like after.
Web and mobile, both. iOS and Android, not just responsive web. Bring an example of a mobile-specific bug that automation caught - or one it missed, and what you changed afterward.
You've led a QA team. Delegated real work, unblocked people, and been accountable for hitting release dates. Tell us about a release that was at risk and what you did.
API validation at a working level. Reading REST and JSON responses, using Postman or similar to verify behaviour and data integrity across services.
Nice to have, not required
Fintech, banking, payments or any regulated industry; KYC and AML compliance flows; SQL for database validation; browser DevTools for network-level debugging; CI/CD pipelines and release processes.
You don't need
Performance or load testing, security testing, or infrastructure ownership.
