We are a medium size financial institution in the downtown financial district. We are looking for someone with accounting experience to join our finance and accounting team. This is a temporary position covering for a maternity leave. Although a formal accounting designation is not required, candidates must have relevant accounting experience and also be able to demonstrate good proficiency with Excel and familiarity with other MS Office applications. Candidates should enjoy working in a team environment, have good communication skills, and be able to work efficiently to meet deadlines. Hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central would be helpful, as would experience in the financial services industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing of Accounts Payable from vendor invoices and employee expense reports
- Preparing journal entries
- Researching and resolving invoice discrepancies & related issues
- Reconciling general ledger accounts
- Cross-train in other Accounting Dept. functions
- Other general accounting duties as required
Although a formal accounting designation is not required, the ideal candidate must have relevant accounting experience and be able to demonstrate good proficiency with Excel and other MS Office applications. The incumbent should be able to work quickly and efficiently, have strong organizational skills and be capable of multi-tasking.

Your Qualifications:
- Experience in bookkeeping and basic accounting
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, familiarity with other MS Office applications
- Able to multi-task while meeting deadlines
- Knowledge of MS Dynamics or similar mid-tier GL software would be an asset
- Securities industry knowledge would be an asset
