Our client in the public sector is seeking a contract based Senior Microsoft Exchange Consultant / Architect to design, implement, and support both Microsoft Exchange Server Subscription Edition (on-premises) and Exchange Online, with particular expertise in Exchange Hybrid architecture.
Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level architecture and technical expertise for Exchange Server Subscription Edition (on-premises), Exchange Online, and Exchange Hybrid environments.
- Design, implement, optimize, and modernize enterprise Exchange and messaging solutions.
- Architect solutions for high availability, disaster recovery, resiliency, performance, and scalability.
- Analyze and resolve complex mail flow, SMTP, transport, integration, authentication, and Exchange infrastructure issues.
- Provide architectural guidance across Active Directory, Entra ID, Entra Connect, and hybrid identity.
- Develop PowerShell automation for Exchange administration, reporting, and operational efficiencies.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, networking, and identity teams to ensure alignment with Microsoft and enterprise standards.
- Develop architecture documentation, technical designs, implementation plans, and roadmaps.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
Requirements
- Extensive senior-level experience designing and supporting Microsoft Exchange in large, complex enterprise environments.
- Deep hands-on experience with Exchange Server Subscription Edition (on-premises), Exchange Online, and Exchange Hybrid.
- Strong Exchange architecture expertise including high availability, disaster recovery, mail flow, SMTP, security, performance, and capacity planning.
- Strong experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Entra Connect, and hybrid identity.
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, DNS, certificates, load balancing, gateways, and Exchange monitoring.
- Strong architecture, troubleshooting, documentation, and technical leadership skills.
- Familiarity with ITSM/change-management tools such as ServiceNow.
- Must be eligible to obtain the required House of Commons security clearance and able to work onsite in Ottawa as required.
