Role Description The Social Media Content Creator is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. In this role, the individual will plan, create, and publish engaging content across social media platforms that reflects Retrokid’s nostalgic brand voice and visual identity. Day-to-day responsibilities include producing photo and video content, writing captions, scheduling posts, and monitoring performance metrics. The role also involves collaborating with design and marketing teams on campaign concepts, responding to community comments and messages, and identifying trends that align with Canadian pop culture and Retrokid collections. The Social Media Content Creator will help grow brand awareness, drive online engagement, and support product launches through consistent, high-quality content.
Qualifications
- Strong social media content creation skills, including short-form video production, photography, and platform-specific storytelling.
- Experience with social media strategy, content planning, and basic analytics to optimize reach and engagement.
- Proficiency in copywriting and editing for social channels, with the ability to craft clear, on-brand captions and messages.
- Familiarity with design and editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, mobile editing apps) for quick, high-quality content production.
- Understanding of digital marketing and brand positioning, ideally within fashion, streetwear, or lifestyle sectors.
- Knowledge and appreciation of Canadian pop culture and nostalgia-driven storytelling.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines on-site.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working closely with creative, marketing, and operations teams.
- Prior experience in social media, content creation, or influencer marketing; in-house brand or agency experience is an asset.
- Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, media, or a related field is preferred but not required when balanced with relevant experience.
