The Role: Interim Pharmacy Practice Lead

Reporting to the VP, Operations, the Pharmacy Practice Lead is responsible for providing pharmacy practice mentorship and subject matter expertise within assigned districts. In this Interim 1-year contract on the team filling an existing vacancy, they will support the District Leaders with finding opportunities, developing and implementing action plans to deliver excellence of pharmacy initiatives, programs, and strategies to improve the patient experience.
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide professional practice guidance and pharmacy subject matter expertise to District Leaders and Pharmacists
- Partner with District Leaders to implement new pharmacy programs across stores
- Ensure pharmacy practices and procedures comply with applicable regulations and company policies
- Monitor and support compliance with pharmacy formulary requirements
- Provide oversight and guidance to store pharmacy teams to support adherence to systems and procedures, including perpetual inventory and dispensary workflow
- Partner with key stakeholders to support the smooth transition of pharmacy and store transfers, ensuring operational standards and procedures are consistently implemented
- Support the effective in-store execution of pharmacy marketing programs and service initiatives, including clinic days, callbacks, compliance programs, and prescription pricing strategies
- Provide strong, values-driven leadership and support the ongoing development of pharmacy teams
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, and development of pharmacists and pharmacy interns
- Partner with District Leaders and Pharmacy Managers to strengthen in-store service standards and effectively resolve patient and customer concerns
- Fulfil all responsibilities in accordance with provincial health and safety legislation and company safety policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as required to support the priorities of Rexall Pharmacy Group Ltd.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- 6+ years of progressive leadership experience
- Licensed pharmacist in good standing; pharmacy management experience is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead, engage, and empower teams across multiple locations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with minimal direction
- Proven judgment and sound decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- University degree in a relevant field; a business degree is considered an asset
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to regularly travel between multiple locations is an essential requirement of this position
