PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Marketing Managers responsible for multiple acute care and surgical portfolios.
- Establish portfolio strategies that drive revenue, market share, and profitable growth across Canada.
- Translate global manufacturer priorities into focused Canadian commercialization plans.
- Equip field sales teams with product positioning, competitive strategies, training, and sales tools that help them win.
- Provide commercial leadership for new product introductions, ensuring market readiness and alignment with Canadian regulatory requirements.
- Own overall portfolio financial performance, including revenue, product mix, gross margin, pricing, and profitability.
- Direct pricing strategies and recommend corrective actions when commercial performance falls below expectations.
- Partner with Sales, Supply Chain, and external manufacturers to improve forecasting, product availability, and inventory management.
- Lead business reviews with manufacturing partners, establishing clear expectations around forecasts, commercial initiatives, and performance metrics.
- Present portfolio strategies, business plans, and performance results to senior leadership and external executives.
Requirements
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Education & Training
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Health Sciences, or a related discipline.
- MBA or comparable advanced business education is valued.
Work Experience & Accomplishments
- 5+ years of progressive marketing, sales, or commercial experience within a medical device distribution model or managing relationships with third-party manufacturers.
- 5+ years of successful people leadership, with experience developing high-performing marketing or commercial professionals.
- Strong medical device marketing and management experience with demonstrated success leading commercial teams.
- Familiarity with acute care clinical environments.
- Understanding of capital equipment sales cycles and the complex decision-making processes involved in hospital purchases.
