Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Conveyancing Paralegal role based in Richmond, BC. The Conveyancing Paralegal will assist fee earners with residential and commercial property transactions from instruction through to completion, including preparing documentation, drafting contracts, and managing correspondence with clients, solicitors, and other third parties. Daily tasks include conducting title and other property-related searches, reviewing and organizing documentation, maintaining accurate files, and updating case management systems. The role also involves arranging and tracking key dates, liaising with lenders and estate agents, preparing completion statements, and ensuring that all regulatory and compliance requirements are met. The successful candidate will support the wider property team, contribute to efficient matter progression, and provide clear and professional communication to clients.
Qualifications
- Strong conveyancing and property law knowledge, with experience supporting residential and/or commercial property transactions.
- Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and completion statements, with close attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective file management and organizational skills, including managing deadlines, maintaining orderly records, and using case management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to conduct and interpret searches and due diligence (e.g., title searches, land registry checks, and related property enquiries).
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment on-site.
- Competence in using common office software and legal practice management tools; familiarity with conveyancing software is an asset.
- Prior experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in a property or real estate department is highly beneficial.
- A legal qualification such as a paralegal certificate, law degree, or equivalent practical experience in a similar role is desirable.
