Director, People Strategy & Culture – Confidential Search
Ross & Co Executive Search is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a successful, privately held global science and technology company focused on human performance and potential. Headquartered in the GTA, the organization has approximately 250 employees with operations across Canada, the U.S. and Europe. It is well established, growing and at an exciting stage in its evolution, with a highly educated, knowledge-based workforce and a strong commitment to innovation, technology and investment in its people.
Reporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, the Director, People Strategy & Culture will be the organization’s senior People leader and a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team. This is a broad and highly visible role with the opportunity to influence not only the People agenda, but also the broader performance and effectiveness of the organization.
The mandate spans talent acquisition, performance management, succession, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, culture and engagement, total rewards, employee relations and HR governance. The successful candidate will bring a strong generalist foundation together with particular strength in talent, organizational effectiveness and leadership capability. The focus is very much on people performance and organizational impact rather than traditional HR administration.
The Director will lead a three-person HR team and will need to be equally comfortable operating strategically with the CEO and SLT and remaining hands-on when required. We are looking for a commercially minded People leader who can exercise sound judgment, challenge constructively, develop practical and scalable People practices and operate effectively in a growing, entrepreneurial environment.
The ideal candidate will have senior HR leadership experience in a mid-sized or larger organization, preferably supporting a professional, technical or knowledge-based workforce. Broad experience across talent and succession, performance management, organizational development, culture, compensation and employee relations is important. Experience supporting employees or operations across multiple countries would be an asset.
The role is hybrid, with an expectation of being in the office two days per week. The office is located in the Highway 404 and Finch Avenue area of the GTA. Base compensation is $150,000–$175,000, with an annual incentive opportunity of 25% at target and up to 50% based on individual and company performance.
This is a confidential search. Additional information about the organization and a full position specification will be shared with qualified candidates. We appreciate all expressions of interest; however, only candidates selected for further consideration will be contacted.
