- Extract and interpret data from SEDAR+ filings, including MD&A, financial statements, annual information forms, and NI 51-101 reserves disclosures; investor presentations; and well and production data available through geoSCOUT and XI AssetBook.
- Maintain comparable company and precedent transaction analyses, commodity price assumptions, and sector screens.
- Draft sections of initiation reports, quarterly earnings notes, company updates, and thematic industry research.
- Support the analyst with client inquiries and calls, marketing trips, conferences, and corporate access events.
- Adhere to applicable securities regulations, firm compliance policies, and professional standards, including requirements relating to confidentiality, conflicts of interest, and research independence.
Qualifications
We are looking for a quick learner with a strong interest in the operational, technical, and financial drivers of the oil and gas industry, and a desire to develop expertise in investment research.
Required

- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage competing priorities, and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours during earnings periods and other market-driven events.
Preferred
- CFA designation or progress toward the designation.
- Familiarity with geoSCOUT, XI AssetBook, FactSet, and/or Bloomberg.
- Knowledge of Canadian oil and gas operations, reserves evaluation, or energy-sector valuation.
