About the Opportunity
A well-established high-end furniture manufacturer is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its finance team in Woodbridge, Ontario.
This is a hands-on accounting role with responsibility for day-to-day accounting activities and key month-end close functions across multiple operating companies. The successful candidate will work across the General Ledger, reconciliations, payroll, statutory remittances, and financial reporting.
Strong ERP experience is important for this position, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O). Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 and QuickBooks is also relevant.
Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Accounting & Month-End Close
- Manage daily accounting activities, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and banking transactions
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and accounting adjustments
- Perform bank, credit card, and General Ledger reconciliations
- Record and reconcile credit card and cash expense transactions accurately and on time
- Reconcile intercompany transactions across multiple subsidiaries
- Support and take ownership of month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Review General Ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies or unusual transactions
- Prepare financial schedules and supporting documentation for monthly reporting
Payroll & Compliance
- Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll accurately and on time
- Reconcile payroll accounts and investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare payroll-related reports and supporting schedules for month-end and year-end close
- Prepare, review, and submit government remittances and filings, including HST, WSIB, EHT, and other applicable statutory obligations
Systems, Records & Process Support
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards
- Work with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Dynamics AX 2009, QuickBooks, Excel, and related accounting applications
- Support integrations between ERP systems and other business applications
- Identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and support improvements to accounting processes
- Perform other accounting and finance duties as required
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and General Ledger processes
- Proven hands-on experience with month-end close and financial reconciliations
- Hands-on experience working with ERP/accounting systems
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and data analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to investigate accounting discrepancies independently and identify root causes
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a broader finance team
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O)
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009
- Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and/or QuickBooks Online
- Experience working with integrations between ERP systems and other business applications
- CPA designation or progress toward a CPA designation
- Experience working in a multi-entity or multi-location accounting environment
- Manufacturing industry experience

You are analytical, organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to investigate discrepancies independently and maintain accuracy across multiple entities and competing deadlines. You are technically capable, comfortable working across accounting systems, and able to collaborate effectively with colleagues across finance and other departments.
