Registered Nurse (RN) – Community Health

We are seeking qualified Registered Nurses (RNs) for community-based roles across British Columbia. These positions focus on delivering care within home and community care and public health settings, in alignment with BCCNM standards and provincial clinical guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, within a community setting
- Perform holistic health assessments and develop appropriate nursing care plans
- Deliver community-based nursing interventions, including wound care, medication administration, chronic disease management, and health education
- Support clients in home care, community clinics, and outreach environments
- Promote health maintenance, disease prevention, and client independence
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care
- Identify and escalate changes in client condition on time
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in EMR systems as per clinical protocols
- Provide care that is culturally safe, trauma-informed, and patient-centred, including working with Indigenous and rural communities
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with BCCNM or eligibility for registration
- Minimum 1 year of recent community health or related nursing experience
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Completion of RAI‑HC (Resident Assessment Instrument – Home Care) Prefered
- Completion of BCCDC Immunization Courses (as per unit-specific requirements)
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently in community and rural settings
- Experience with EMR systems such as PARIS, Meditech, or Cerner is considered an asset
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $50 – $62 (based on experience and assignment location)
- Overtime and statutory holiday pay in accordance with BC employment standards
- Travel Time Pay
- Coverage of Travel and Accommodation.
