Position Summary
Russell Tobin is seeking experienced and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for Correctional Health Services across British Columbia. This opportunity allows healthcare professionals to provide essential nursing care within correctional facilities while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support patient health, safety, and rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care and health monitoring within correctional facilities.
- Conduct patient assessments and assist in developing care plans.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions within LPN scope of practice.
- Monitor and document patient conditions, reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
- Support management of acute, chronic, mental health, and substance use-related conditions.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with Registered Nurses, physicians, mental health professionals, and allied healthcare teams.
- Promote health education, wellness, and disease prevention initiatives.
- Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and correctional facility policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Minimum one year of recent nursing experience in corrections, acute care, mental health, long-term care, or community health settings.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a secure and fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Compensation & Travel Benefits
- Pay Rate: CAD $41 - $52 per hour
- Facility-provided accommodation (where applicable)
- Round-trip airfare reimbursement
- Paid travel time at regular hourly rates, capped at 7.5 hours each way

- Schedule: Full-time hours; Day, Evening, and Night shifts based on facility requirements
