Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER)
Position Summary:
Russell Tobin is seeking experienced and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) for Emergency Room units across British Columbia. This opportunity offers the chance to work in acute care hospital settings, providing timely, high-quality emergency nursing care while collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting to the Emergency Room with a wide range of acute and urgent medical conditions.
- Conduct rapid patient assessments, prioritize care based on acuity, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
- Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and prescribed emergency treatments.
- Monitor patient conditions, recognize clinical deterioration, and respond promptly to changes in health status.
- Assist with emergency procedures, resuscitation, and stabilization of critically ill or injured patients.
- Perform triage assessments and collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to support timely patient care.
- Provide wound care, pain management, and other emergency nursing interventions as required.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, follow-up care, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed clinical documentation.
- Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and organizational policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with BCCNM.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience.
- Strong knowledge of emergency nursing practices, patient assessment, and clinical interventions.
- Current BLS certification; ACLS and TNCC certification preferred.
- Experience in triage, emergency procedures, and caring for critically ill or injured patients.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
