Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical(Medsurg)
Position Summary:
Russell Tobin is seeking experienced and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) for Medical-Surgical units across British Columbia. This opportunity offers the chance to work in acute-care hospital settings, providing comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care while collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and identify changes in patient condition.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient needs.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, treatments, and other prescribed interventions.
- Monitor patients for complications, recognize clinical deterioration, and promptly escalate concerns.
- Provide pre- and post-operative nursing care, including monitoring recovery and identifying potential complications.
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, pain management, and other clinical procedures as required.
- Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.
- Provide patient and family education regarding medications, treatment plans, recovery, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed clinical documentation.
- Follow infection prevention and control practices, patient safety standards, and organizational policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with BCCNM.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience in an acute-care setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices, patient assessment, medication administration, and clinical interventions.
- Current BLS certification.
- Strong clinical judgment, critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute-care environment and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
