Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical (Med-Surg)

Employment Type: Travel Contract
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical (Med-Surg) to join our healthcare team in British Columbia. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions, ensuring safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care in an acute care setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for Medical-Surgical patients.
- Monitor patients' conditions, administer medications, and perform treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and update patient care plans.
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies and professional standards.
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient conditions and escalate care when required.
- Promote a safe and supportive environment for patients and their families.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Minimum of one year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred.
- Current BLS certification; ACLS certification is considered an asset.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
Compensation
- Competitive pay rate: CAD $50 – $62 per hour.
