At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members and are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $79980 - $105978.8. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training.
This position may also be eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP). AIP amounts are variable and are dependent on both company and individual performance, subject to eligibility criteria. The target bonus percentage for this role is 4% of annual base earnings.
We are currently seeking an Senior Electrical Designer for the Vista Switchgear team. The successful candidate is responsible for preparing low voltage protection and control (P&C) schematic and detail wiring diagrams for medium voltage Vista switchgear. They collaborate with upper management and internal teams to deliver high-quality design solutions on time to meet production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare protection and control (P&C) schematic drawings, detail wiring diagrams, and bills of material for Vista switchgear based on specification summary documents.
- Specify electrical components such as overcurrent protection relays, meters, flexi-test (FT) switches, CT’s, VT’s, MCB’s.
- Provide technical guidance to wiring assemblers and quality assurance teams to resolve shop floor production issues.
- Follow applicable standards such as CSA, IEEE, UL etc.
- Partner with mechanical design team to optimize panel layout for electrical components.
- Generate comprehensive bill of materials (BOMs) for electrical components and process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) within 3DEXPERIENCE (3Dx).
What we are looking for:
- College diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or a similar field with power engineering courses.
- 7+ years of experience designing switchgear or similar electrical design experience.
- Excellent skills in CAD design wiring software such as Zuken E3, MicroStation, Solid Edge.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Advanced proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, including Oracle and 3DEXPERIENCE (3Dx).
- Excellent organization skills, team player, able to work in multidiscipline projects independently.
- Solid knowledge of electrical components used in switchgear projects, such as CT's, VT's, MV breakers, MV switches, motor operators, Overcurrent Protection Relays, Flexi-Test (FT) switches, and other accessories.
Physical Effort:
Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 20lbs.
Work Environment:
Acceptable working environment with minor or almost no disagreeable or challenging working conditions as part of everyday expected levels (all jobs will occasionally experience undesirable or disagreeable events).
