Sabounji LLP is a boutique CPA firm with a team of about 20, serving owner-managed businesses, professionals, and families across the GTA. As a smaller firm, we offer direct partner access, a wide variety of files, and real responsibility early on.
The role
We're looking for an Intermediate to Senior Accountant to manage client engagements from planning through to file completion, working closely with our partners and helping to develop junior staff. Title and compensation will reflect your experience.
What you'll do
- Prepare and lead review engagements, compilation (NTR) engagements, and year-end financial statements for corporate clients
- Prepare corporate (T2) and personal (T1) tax returns, along with related filings (T4, T5, T3, HST)
- Build and maintain working paper files in Caseware
- Supervise, train, and review the work of junior staff (senior level)
- Serve as a main point of contact for clients, identify planning opportunities, and bring issues to the partners
- Assist with special projects such as tax planning, reorganizations, and year-end planning
What you bring
- CPA designation, or enrolled in the CPA PEP and progressing (CPA preferred for Senior)
- [3–6+] years of public practice experience
- Solid knowledge of ASPE, CSRS 4200, and Canadian corporate and personal tax
- Hands-on experience with Caseware and a tax preparation program
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines
What we offer
- Salary: $65,000 – $90,000 per year, based on experience
