Position Summary
The Welder is responsible for cutting, fitting, positioning, and joining metal components using MIG welding equipment. The Welder will accurately lay out and weld materials according to customer specifications, drawings, and production requirements while following all safety and quality standards.
Position Functions

Perform MIG welding, cutting, fitting, and fabrication of metal components.

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, measurements, and welding symbols.

Measure, lay out, position, and align materials prior to welding.

Inspect completed work to ensure quality and accuracy.

Communicate with management, Production Control, Quality, and other shop personnel regarding assignments and production or quality issues.

Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools safely.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Follow all company safety policies and applicable occupational health and safety requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Working Conditions

Ability to work in hot and cold temperatures and varying weather conditions.

Exposure to welding fumes, noise, dust, sparks, and industrial equipment.

Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and perform repetitive tasks.

Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Knowledge of welding safety and safe work practices.

Preferred Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Previous welding or fabrication experience is an asset.

MIG welding experience is an asset.

Manufacturing or steel industry experience is an asset.
