Overview
The Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the Geoanalytical Laboratories by providing day-to-day administrative and operational support for sample receiving, data management, and client services. This role is responsible for coordinating the intake and tracking of client samples, maintaining accurate records within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), preparing laboratory documentation, and supporting communication with clients and internal stakeholders. Through a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and customer service, the Administrative Assistant contributes to the efficient delivery of laboratory services while following established quality, safety, and administrative procedures.
Accountabilities
- Receive and log client samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), verify accompanying documentation, generate barcode labels, and maintain accurate chain of custody records.
- Prepare laboratory work packages and worksheets using LIMS to support efficient sample processing and analysis.
- Enter, verify, and maintain data in LIMS to support the timely generation and distribution of client reports.
- Support the preparation and distribution of laboratory reports and documentation.
- Respond to telephone, email, and in-person inquiries, providing professional customer service and directing requests to the appropriate personnel when required.
- Maintain electronic and paper records, including filing, scanning, and archiving.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment in accordance with SRC policies and safety standards.
- Assist with basic laboratory activities as required.
Qualifications
- Up to one year of related administrative, clerical, or laboratory support experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Some post-secondary education, administrative training, or related coursework is considered an asset but is not required.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience using LIMS, Adobe, or working in a laboratory environment is considered an asset.

The chosen candidate will also be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.
