Role Description The Night Attendant is a part time, on-site role based in Saskatoon, SK, responsible for supporting funeral home operations during overnight hours. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring the premises, ensuring the building is secure, and maintaining a calm, respectful environment. The Night Attendant assists with receiving and preparing deceased individuals under established protocols, coordinates with staff and responds to phone inquiries or after-hours requests from families and service providers. Additional responsibilities include basic cleaning and organizing of common areas, maintaining documentation and logs, and providing courteous, professional assistance to visitors or family members who arrive during the night.
Qualifications
- Ability to provide compassionate, professional support to families and maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong reliability and attention to detail, with the capacity to follow established procedures and maintain accurate records during overnight shifts.
- Comfort working in a funeral home environment, including handling sensitive situations with composure and respect.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to respond calmly and clearly to phone calls, in-person inquiries, and urgent requests.
- Basic facility care skills, including light cleaning, organizing, and monitoring building security systems.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are an asset
- Previous experience in customer service, healthcare, hospitality, or a related field is an asset; training in funeral services is considered beneficial but not required.
