Job Location: Brampton Manufacturing Facility
Hourly Rate: $29.00 probationary rate with $0.85 shift premium
Shift: 3rd Shift – 11:30PM to 7:30AM
The ideal candidate should be willing to provide coverage for vacations, sick days, other LOAs, etc. on all three shifts. Approximately 40 hours per week, however weekly hours can vary.
This role is overtime eligible.
Job Description:
The incumbent is responsible for operating the Jiffylite mailer line, an envelope manufacturing machine, as required. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up print jobs, completing all required production and quality reports, and troubleshooting equipment or process issues as they arise.
The position requires the ability to consistently maintain production, quality, safety, and housekeeping standards while working collaboratively with the Jiffylite team. Excellent English communication skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing, are essential.
Obtain work instructions and properly select and load in-process work in prescribed manner. Make adjustments in accordance with established procedures for machine operation. Check, set controls, and reset as required for proper speed, feed, tension, or other related machine operation. Remove completed work, properly package, identify, weigh, and properly store.
The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety by following all applicable safety procedures, policies, and practices at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 Years experience in a manufacturing environment as a machine operator.
- Must have basic computer skills, and a positive attitude.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Ability to effectively use/read tape measure
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, and bending.
- Pushing, pulling, lifting at least 40lbs.
- Hand and eye coordination.
- Hand tools as required by job.
- Wear PPE as required by job.
- Able to constantly work in a non-conditioned environment
