About Hetek. Hetek Solutions has been a trusted distributor and field-service provider of gas and water detection instrumentation since 1956, serving gas utilities, municipalities, and industry across Canada.
The opportunity. Grow Hetek's industrial and gas-utility business across Western Canada. This is a hunting role focused on generating new industrial accounts.
Reporting and territory
- Based in Western Canada (Edmonton or Calgary preferred), with travel across the territory.
- Territory: British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan.
What you'll do
- Build and work an active prospecting program - targeted calling lists, cold and warm calls, and field outreach - to open new industrial and gas-utility accounts across British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan.
- Conduct customer site visits, need assessments, and deliver product demonstrations.
- Qualify opportunities to Hetek's sales-qualified-lead standard and hand them to Technical Sales to as required to assist with closing and staying involved through closing.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline, working with your Manager on territory plans and targets.
- Represent Hetek at trade shows and industry events, with organized follow-up.
- Record all activity accurately in Hetek's CRM.
What we're looking for
- Proven B2B business-development or outside-sales experience with a hunter's orientation - opening and winning new accounts - ideally in industrial, utility, safety, or instrumentation markets.
- Confidence prospecting and cold-calling, and strong relationship-building skills.
- Comfort learning technical products with support from Hetek's technical team; deep technical expertise is not required, as training and technical support will be provided.
- Self-directed and organized, able to run a home-based territory.
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record, insurable under the Company's policy, with willingness to travel across the territory including occasional overnight stays.
- Discipline with CRM and pipeline tracking.
- Based in Western Canada, ideally Edmonton or Calgary.
Compensation and benefits
- Competitive base salary (in the range of $75,000–$90,000 depending on experience), plus a performance-based commission and incentive plan.
