We are searching for Full Time, Part Time and Casual Cook 2's to join our Parkland Ancaster team based in Ancaster, Ontario.

About The Opportunity

Prepare fresh, nutritious, and delicious meals that enhance the dining experience and well-being of our residents.
Assists with preparation of food for special functions (e.g. catering, theme dinners) to ensure service meets established standards;
Prepare meals according to established recipes, menus, and therapeutic dietary requirements while maintaining quality and presentation standards.
Reports any recipe shortages, discrepancies or quality issues to the Executive Chef or supervisor in a timely manner;
Clean and sanitize cooking station daily; maintain the cleanliness of kitchen equipment such as ovens, kettles, mixers, and others in order to maintain safety and sanitation in the kitchen to meet legislative and organizational standards; responsible for the clear and correct labeling of excess food;
Follows disposal procedures according to established waste management guidelines for organics, paper, plastics, cans/bottles, non-recyclable material, etc;

About You

Takes pride in food safety, consistency, and presentation
Works well independently and as part of a team
Has previous cooking experience (1+ year preferred)
A high-school diploma or a GED;
Current food handlers’ certificate (preferred);
Ability to provide a clear criminal record check upon hire;
A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.
