Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

Digital Shared Services focuses on supporting clinical and business systems as the foundation for leveraging electronic data in the delivery of health-care services. Digital Business Solutions within Digital Health supports the introduction, use, optimization and sustainment of effective business administrative solutions, effective business processes, systems, services and technologies for the provincial health care system.

We have an opportunity for a Manager Digital Services – Business Services who will manage a team of client service professionals with technical expertise to support Enterprise Business Applications (Primarily SAP, SuccessFactors, and related applications) to enable the effective delivery of health services across the provincial health system. The successful candidates’ leadership, professionalism, diplomacy, and continuous improvement orientation will be evident as they collaborate with clients and colleagues to provide excellent customer service, identify system solutions, and support an integrated province-wide health-care system that provides multiculturally respectful health services delivery.

This position will model a customer-centric approach for its assigned team, units, services, projects and improvement initiatives. As this role is provincial in nature, the work location is flexible within Manitoba and will be made in consultation with the successful candidates.

Reporting to a Director Enterprise Applications, the Manager Digital Services – Business Services will:

Manage all aspects of operational support for enterprise business systems, primarily SAP, SuccessFactors, and related applications.
Manage all aspects of multiple concurrent projects assigned for completion within the work unit from initiation to completion including scope, risk, change, issue, schedule, cost, quality and communication, involving the area director and vendors as required.
Communicate requirements for projects and manage the ongoing introduction of changes, upgrades or the introduction of new applications/technology platforms to the operating environment, including acting as the primary area contact on reviews to transition assigned applications to regular operational use.
Plan, recommend procurement or development, deliver assigned projects, and ensure ongoing maintenance (including lifecycle refresh, patching and/or application enhancements and upgrades) of assigned technologies within the enterprise architecture and required standards.
Collaborate with vendors and exchange appropriate information to ensure the delivery of relevant outsourced services and ongoing vendor support. Influence or lead change management, and benefits realization measurement in coordination with business leads for key projects.
Promote the ongoing adoption, optimization, deployment and maintenance of technologies and related equipment, updating these in alignment with the established enterprise architecture and standards, and approved operating plans.

Experience

8 years of progressive management experience in a large, 24/7/365, geographically dispersed digital services organization specializing in providing enterprise application solutions and supports, preferably in the health-care sector, including:

5 years of experience managing client services focused on maintaining a wide range of complex computer systems and information infrastructure in a shared services environment.
3 years of experience implementing annual operating plans focused on client service and leading multiple project teams.
3 years of experience influencing mid and senior management, key stakeholders, and collaborating with vendors on outsourced services.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

Post-secondary degree in technology, computer science, engineering, or digital health/clinical informatics from an accredited educational institution.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

Active member in good standing with an associated regulatory body as appropriate.

Qualifications And Skills

Demonstrated mid-level leadership capabilities. The provincial health system in Manitoba has adopted the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings, and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg.
Interruptions to respond to questions are common; dedicated and focused time for planning and concentration can be scheduled.
Travel throughout the province requiring a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle.
