Role Description The Overnight Security Guard is a full-time, on-site role based in North York, ON. The guard will monitor premises during night shifts, conduct regular patrols, and ensure that access points, doors, and gates are secure. Daily responsibilities include observing and reporting suspicious activity, responding to alarms and incidents, and maintaining detailed log entries of events and patrols. The role involves enforcing site rules, assisting visitors or staff with security-related concerns, and collaborating with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary. The guard is expected to follow company protocols, use security equipment appropriately, and maintain a calm, professional presence at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario security guard license and knowledge of relevant provincial security regulations.
- Experience in site patrolling, access control, and monitoring of CCTV or other security systems.
- Strong observation, incident reporting, and documentation skills.
- Ability to remain alert and responsive during overnight shifts and manage emergency situations calmly.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and a professional, customer-focused attitude.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods and respond quickly when required.
- Reliable transportation to North York, ON, and consistent availability for overnight, full-time scheduling.
- Previous security, law enforcement, or military experience is an asset; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
