Shaughnessy Restaurant is a well-established, high-volume restaurant located in the heart of beautiful VanDusen Botanical Garden. We are seeking an enthusiastic, hands-on Restaurant Manager who is passionate about hospitality, guest service, and developing great teams.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to grow their management career in a dynamic restaurant that also hosts weddings, private events, and corporate functions throughout the year. Experience with weddings, banquets, catering, or event coordination is a significant asset.
We are looking for an energetic leader who enjoys being on the floor, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in creating exceptional guest experiences. The successful candidate will work closely with our management team and have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as they grow with the company.
What You’ll Do
- Lead daily front-of-house operations and ensure smooth, efficient service.
- Coach, motivate, and support a team of servers, hosts, bartenders, and support staff.
- Deliver exceptional guest experiences by resolving concerns professionally and building lasting relationships with our guests.
- Assist with planning and executing weddings, private events, and corporate functions.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and maintain high service standards.
- Help with scheduling, labour management, inventory, and restaurant administration.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen and events teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming restaurant environment.
We’re Looking For Someone Who Has
- Minimum 2 years of restaurant or supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- A positive, team-first attitude and a hands-on approach.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Experience with weddings, banquets, catering, or events is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with POS systems, reservation platforms, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, and hospitality service.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
