Shift Ground Axis Inc. is inviting expressions of interest from currently enrolled post-secondary students interested in future paid work-integrated learning placements.
Our placements may connect to areas such as:
- agriculture and food systems
- biology, ecology and biodiversity
- environmental science and sustainability
- climate resilience
- biotechnology and the bio-economy
- environmental data, geography and related fields
- community engagement, research and knowledge translation
Students may support applied projects, research, data and evidence synthesis, project coordination, community-facing activities, and the development of practical resources.
We are especially interested in students who:
- are currently enrolled in a Canadian college, university or polytechnic program;
- can demonstrate a meaningful connection between their studies and the placement area;
- are interested in practical, interdisciplinary work; and
- have an academic contact, such as a professor, program director or co-op advisor, who can confirm that the placement relates to their program of study.
Placement details
Compensation: $18–$20/hour
Time commitment: minimum 10 hours/week, with many placements expected to fall in the 15–20 hours/week range
Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba / Hybrid
Placement length: varies by opportunity and applicable WIL funding stream
Exact hours, duration and responsibilities will depend on the placement, the student’s academic schedule and the applicable funding program.
