Role Description The Member Relations Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Kamloops, BC. This position is responsible for serving as a primary point of contact for members, responding to inquiries, and providing timely, professional support. Day-to-day tasks include onboarding new members, maintaining accurate membership records, and coordinating member communications such as newsletters, event announcements, and updates about association programs. The Specialist will engage with members to understand their needs, gather feedback, and identify opportunities to enhance member services and benefits. The role also involves supporting events and networking activities, resolving member issues, and collaborating with internal teams to strengthen member engagement and satisfaction. This role will be the 'face' of SICA in the Kamloops region, attending and hosting industry and community events.
Qualifications
- Strong Member Relations and Customer Service skills, with a focus on building positive, long-term relationships.
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities, including clear verbal and written communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Solid Analytical Skills to interpret member feedback, identify trends, and recommend improvements to member programs.
- Experience in client-facing or association-based roles, ideally within construction, trade, or professional membership organizations.
- Experience in hosting networking events.
- Proficiency with CRM or membership databases, and common office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, word processing).
- Organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple member requests and projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and sound judgment when addressing member concerns or escalations.
- Post-secondary education in business, communications, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
